STORMING REDD runs in the 2 mile 6 furlong novice handicap hurdle at Hereford tomorrow. It will be his first run over this extended trip. Connections are hoping that a combination of a step up in distance, quicker ground and a tongue tie will help him to come back to his best form. Paul Moloney will be in the saddle again. He rode him at Doncaster last time out and he felt that if he was ridden differently over a longer trip it may help. It is all a bit of an experiment but if it works then he could run well as he seems in particularly good form at home.
On Wednesday SAMBA NIGHT is set to have his first run for the yard in a 5 furlong median auction maiden race at Lingfield. There are only 5 runners and the likely favourite has been off the track for a long time so it may not be the strongest race. He has reasonable form over 5 furlongs and his best run was when he was second on the polytrack at Wolverhampton. The surface at Lingfield should therefore suit him. At home he looks to have the speed for 5 or 6 furlongs. He was also entered at Wolverhampton over 6 furlongs on Friday but the Lingfield race looks the easier option on paper . He has been gelded over the winter and has been shaping up nicely at home, he looks really well in his coat. He should be a fun horse for the season ahead and can hopefully run a good race on Wednesday and go on from there.
